The WISER Group

WISER is an independent group of companies established in 1999, with a centrally based Head Office in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, and served also by offices and facilities in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and Thetford, Norfolk.

The Group consists of an environmental consultancy – WISER Environment Ltd that specialises in the implementation of management systems, waste management and recycling, and land quality; and WISER Recycling – specialising in the innovative collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

Our aims are to provide a quality service to our consultancy clients and recycling customers, with environmental protection and improvement at the forefront of our considerations. We see this as the only way to continue growing our businesses.

The key achievements of the Group are:

• Listed by The Times as one of the 20 most innovative UK environmental companies.


• Closed loop lamp recycling - considered to be the only UK based company producing the highest quality lamp glass cullet for return to the lamp manufacturing industry. The vast majority of UK lamp glass cullet is used in aggregate mix.


• Using innovative collection methods to reduce environmental emissions related to our recycling business.


• Operating a treatment plant using green energy (waste cooking oil).


• Implementation and certification of integrated management systems to ISO14001, ISO9001, OHSAS18001 and PAS99 for a number of our clients.


• Successful planning and Permit applications for a wide range of waste management/recycling facilities, and other industrial processes.


• Providing support, technical and legal advice, and practical operational recommendations to help our clients to grow their businesses.

The Group operates a fully integrated management system that ensures quality of service in a safe manner, with full appraisal and continual improvement of our environmental impacts. We hold certification of our IMS to ISO14001 for environmental management.
